British jewellery retailer behind FOUR major brands plunges into administration after nearly two decades

A UK-BASED jewellery company, alongside its four online brands, have been plunged into administration. The North-East based online jewellery store specialises in handmade fine jewellery and vibrant gemstone styles. On August 20, Iain Nairn and Sean Williams from Leonard Curtis were assigned as joint administrators, according to a notice in The Gazette. Founded in 2007 by two graduates in Newcastle, Roxoa and its brands have established an international reputation from its HQ in Gateshead. Following this success, Roxoa continued to open Gold Boutique, a 2000s-inspired brand for a younger audience, Bail & Stone, specialising in gold and platinum pieces, and Ruby & Oscar, a vibrant gemstone jewellers. All the premium brands are currently running huge sales, seeing the price of some of its bestselling items slashed by as much as 54 per cent. Previous customers have hailed the businesses as “absolutely first class” and a “great experience”, with others calling the jewellery “lovely” and “fantastic”. Most read in Money The Roxoa, QP Jewellers, Ruby & Oscar, Gold Boutique and Bail & Stone websites are all still operational online and are accepting orders, but no further details have been released about the administration.
