British holidaymakers left covered in blood after fight with roommate at Ibiza hotel

The pair, aged 27 and 28, were sharing a room in the resort of Sant Antoni de Portmany when they became engaged in a fight early this morning. Emergency services were alerted after one of the women presented to hotel staff covered in blood. Spain’s Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) said both women were arrested after it was ascertained they had assaulted each other. Traces of blood were discovered in the hotel’s common areas and both women sustained injuries to their faces and arms. Both filed complaints against each other, with one woman taken to a local medical centre to be treated for her injuries. It’s unknown what the women’s relationship to each other is. A spokesperson for the force said: ‘The Civil Guard has arrested two women, aged 27 and 28, both British nationals, on suspicion of causing bodily harm following a mutual assault at a hotel in the town of San Antonio. ‘The incident took place in the early hours of this morning, when a citizen security patrol responded to a report of a fight between two women staying at a local hotel. The brawl took place at a hotel in the resort of Sant Antoni de Portmany on the north coast of the island (Picture: Getty Images) ‘Upon arrival, officers found one of the women at the hotel reception with several bleeding injuries consistent with an assault, while the other remained in the room they shared. ‘After interviewing both women and several witnesses, the Civil Guard gathered evidence indicating that the two had assaulted each other during an argument. ‘Both women had injuries of varying severity to their arms and faces. In addition, during an inspection of the scene, traces of blood were found in the public areas near the room. ‘One of the women was taken to a medical center to receive treatment and obtain the corresponding medical injury report. Afterwards, both women filed complaints regarding the incident. ‘Once the investigation had been concluded and the evidence available assessed, the Civil Guard proceeded to arrest both women on suspicion of causing bodily harm.’ Just over a week ago, a British holidaymaker was arrested for breaking off part of his father-in-law’s thumb in a fight in a hotel room during a visit to Sa Coma, Mallorca. The 65-year-old victim was taken to Manacor hospital to be treated for a head wound, a deep cut on his nose and his amputated thumb. His 42-year-old son-in-law was arrested by officers at the hotel’s reception. Blood was found in the room, where furniture including a lamp had been damaged, as well as in the corridor outside.
