British clothing chain with over 500 shops launches ‘everything must go’ sale ahead of town centre closure

The retailer will permanently pull the shutters on the location in October, according to signs in the shop’s windows. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! This signage also details a massive closing down sale at the store, with 20 per cent off items. No official reason for the closure has not been disclosed, however, the town’s ongoing Riverside Project has seen an overhaul of retail units in the area. This includes the upcoming demolition of the Riverside Shopping Centre, with plans for the site detailing a new residential, retail, and leisure project. There is currently no further information on the future of the brand in Evesham. Frasers Group, the company behind the 500 Sports Direct stores, tends to relocate stores rather than shuttering sites completely. A Sports Direct store located on Academy Street in Inverness is currently holding a closing sale as it prepares to relocate to a new city centre site.
