The town centre store first opened to customers in 2009, stocking brands such as Tsum Tsum, Yankee Candle, and TY Toys. Staff at the Rugby location shared their shock, with one worker telling Warwickhire World: “I can’t even begin to explain how devastating this is not only to us as staff members but being another loss in the precinct.” “We won’t make these last months miserable. We will go off on a positive with our heads held high.” The team member encouraged shoppers to “grab a great bargain” at the location while they still can. While items such as wrapping paper are available for half price, up to 70 per cent has been slashed from the prices of cards and other gifts. A previous statement from Clintons said: “The company has continued to close loss-making stores and the portfolio of retail stores is now down to approximately 170 stores.
