British Airways Passenger Removed In Handcuffs After Flight Attendant Tells Him 26 Times To Sit Down

A passenger headed from London Heathrow to Las Vegas was taken off a British Airways Airbus A350 in handcuffs Thursday after an confrontation with crew and other travelers. Video was posted by British drum-and-bass DJ Bou, who was headed to Las Vegas for a show. It shows a man in a navy shirt standing in the aisle, arguing and repeatedly trying to move through crew and passengers. A flight attendant plants herself directly in front of him and several passengers form a barrier. She tells him to “stay seated.” Then she tells him again. And again. Apparently more than 26 times. The passenger sits, gets back up and re-engages. At one point the flight attendant warns him: Sit down, sir. If I have to tell you again, I will be restraining you. I will be restraining you, sir. The recording cuts to the Heathrow ramp, where a large group of police officers escorts him away from flight 275 with his hands cuffed behind his back. The final shot shows the videographer’s British Airways screen: “6A — Welcome to Club World.” BA275 was an Airbus A350-1000 and departed Heathrow at 8:24 p.m., 3 hours and 9 minutes behind schedule. It reached Las Vegas at 10:09 p.m, 2 hours and 9 minutes late. Many commenters declare that the man was drunk. Others diagnose drugs or mental illness. Some claim another passenger started it. Passengers in the cabin continued addressing him after he sat down, apparently provoking him to stand again.
