Britain has hit back at Russian threats over reports that Ukraine is using British-made drones to strike targets inside Russia, vowing to continue supplying Kyiv with the equipment it needs to defend itself. “Britain stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and we are committed to providing the equipment Ukraine needs to defend itself against Putin’s illegal invasion,” a UK Ministry of Defense spokesperson said, according to journalist Alex Raufoglu.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “Russia should be in no doubt about the resolve of this Government to stand against Russian aggression, in Ukraine and against the UK and our allies,” the spokesperson added. The response came after Russia’s embassy in London threatened Britain with consequences following reports that British-made drones had been used in Ukrainian deep strikes. “London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer,” the embassy said, adding that the greater Britain’s support for Kyiv, “the higher the price it will pay.” The Sunday Times reported that drones produced by two British companies have been used by Ukrainian forces during deep-strike operations over the past six months, including against oil refineries and other targets inside Russia. One of the systems identified was the jet-powered Nyan drone produced by Callen-Lenz, a subsidiary of BAE Systems. Britain has shown no sign of retreating from that support. The UK government says it plans to deliver more than 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 and has committed £16 billion in military support since Russia launched its full-scale invasion. London has repeatedly framed support for Ukraine as part of Britain’s own security, saying Russia’s aggression poses a threat beyond Ukraine’s borders.
