BRITISH boxer Raven Chapman has spent nearly two weeks in a coma after suffering a bleed on the brain in sparring. Chapman, 32, collapsed after a training session in Denmark on July 24 and was airlifted to a local hospital. That successfully stopped the bleeding and swelling, but medics put her in an induced coma to aid her recovery. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! As of the past 24 hours, doctors have stopped dosing Chapman up on sedatives and her long rehabilitation will begin. Her team wrote: “Her doctors are doing everything they can to support her recovery, and we remain hopeful as she continues to fight through this incredibly difficult time. “Raven’s family are in Denmark supporting her during this incredibly difficult time. We kindly ask that their privacy is respected. “At this stage, this is the only update we are able to provide. If there are any significant developments, we will share further information when it is appropriate to do so. “Thank you for your continued support. Please keep Raven and her loved ones in your thoughts during this challenging time.” Chapman has a 10-2 professional boxing record and fought Sky Nicholson for the WBC featherweight title in 2022.
