The organization was founded to bring together the community to celebrate leadership, learning and community engagement.The New York Times Bestselling author is known for creating characters and stories set in the first half of the 19th Century that have captivated millions around the world, and inspired Netflix’s global hit “Bridgerton” series.Quinn will join attendees for an engaging conversation about storytelling, history, literature and the cultural impact of her work. The discussion will be followed by a moderated conversation led by JWA CLE Co-President Lisa Cynamon Mayers. “As we begin this exciting new chapter as Jewish Women in Action Cleveland, we wanted a speaker whose work brings people together through the power of storytelling,” said JWA CLE Co-President Wendie Forman, in a release. “Julia Quinn has created a world that has sparked conversations across generations, and we look forward to welcoming our community as we celebrate both our rich history and our future.”The event will also honor Debbie Joseph as the recipient of the organization’s Hannah G. Solomon Award, one of its highest honors. Named for NCJW founder Hannah G. Solomon, the award recognizes individuals whose leadership, volunteerism and commitment to social justice embody the organization’s mission and values. Joseph has demonstrated exceptional dedication to Jewish Women in Action Cleveland and the greater community through her years of leadership, service and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others.“For 132 years, our Opening Meeting has marked the beginning of a new season of the impact we make in Cleveland,” said Cynamon Mayers. “This year is especially meaningful as we honor our past while embracing our future as Jewish Women in Action Cleveland. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with an extraordinary speaker and recognize Debbie Joseph for her remarkable contributions to our organization and our community.”Quinn is the author of more than 40 novels. The Bridgerton series has been translated into 43 languages and has more than 20 million copies in print in the United States, alone. Beyond her writing, Quinn serves on the board of Landesa, a globally recognized nonprofit working to secure land rights for rural communities, and has been a national ambassador for EveryLibrary, advocating against book bans across the country.
