Bride and groom-to-be, 21 & 25, killed in crash just hours before tying the knot are buried in their wedding outfits

A BRIDE and her groom-to-be have been killed in a horror six-vehicle crash just hours before their wedding. Daniel Grande, 25, and his fiancee Angelica Garcia, 21, died in a collision in Guatemala – with devastated family members burying the pair in the clothes they would have worn to be wed. On the way back, the motorbikes crashed into another motorcycle, two light vehicles and a heavy cargo truck carrying fuel, according to firefighters. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Firefighters raced to the scene – but Daniel could not be saved. His fiancee Angelica was rushed to hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. A total of three people were killed in the horrifying six-vehicle collision on Saturday. A further three people were raced to Escuintla National Hospital in critical condition. The fatal incident unfolded just hours after groom-to-be Daniel posted a love poem to his fiancee on social media. Devastated family members re-enacted the pair’s wedding at their funeral. Two bridesmaids in pink carried out their rings and placed them on each of their coffins. The couple were then lowered into a cemetery in Masagua near the church they should have been married in. Emotional tributes from family members and loved ones have poured in for the tragic young couple. The pair had been dating for three years and got engaged last year. Daniel’s mum Luz Amanda Bran Orantes said: “They were going to get married at 3pm on Sunday and it never happened. “My boy was counting down the days. “In the morning when I came back from buying the suit he was going to wear for the celebration I was calling him because we were going to decorate the church, but he never replied.” The young couple were killed while going out to buy last-minute wedding items Credit: Facebook/@daniel grande The couple had been engaged for a year – and had been due to wed on Sunday Credit: Facebook/@daniel grande His cousin Maria Jose Roque wrote on social media: “Sometimes you wish you could anticipate and see what might happen to them in order to avoid it, but unfortunately that would never be possible. “The Bible is right in reminding us that our life is like the mist, that we are only passing through this life, but even so, it hurts to come to terms with circumstances like these, it hurts that you are gone, cousin along with your fiancée. “So many dreams that remain only words.” Another wellwisher, speaking while Angelica was still alive in hospital, said: “Life is fleeting, where in the blink of an eye we leave this world and everything ends and plans and material things are left behind as memories. “With enormous sadness and tearful eyes, we learned of the tragic death of our friend and neighbour Daniel Grande, a well-mannered young man with many dreams and goals to fulfill. “We feel immense pain knowing that he will not make it home and say good afternoon Mum, I’m home. “We can only send our deepest condolences to his entire family, his mum and dad with their hearts in a thousand pieces upon learning that their son was the one in that terrible accident.” Comment now
