The commission has also decided to continue negative marking in the examination. However, the BPSC TRE 4 exam date has not been announced yet.BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said on Monday that TRE 4 will follow a two-stage examination process comprising Preliminary and Mains examinations. He said several recruitment bodies across the country conduct examinations in two stages. The commission also considered suggestions from the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) while finalising the examination process.NEGATIVE MARKING TO CONTINUEThe BPSC has decided to retain negative marking in TRE 4. The commission said the rule will apply equally to all candidates. It also rejected claims that candidates appearing for the examination in Hindi and English were awarded different marks. According to the commission, candidates are not required to select their examination language while filling out the application form. Therefore, the BPSC does not maintain separate data on candidates who appeared in Hindi or English.60 PERCENT RECHECKING RULEThe commission also clarified the rule regarding candidates who score more than 60 marks. According to BPSC, if a candidate scores more than 60 per cent, the answer sheet undergoes a rechecking process. The commission clarified that this does not mean candidates are barred from scoring more than 60 per cent. The process is only meant for rechecking answer sheets of candidates crossing the 60 per cent mark.TRE 4 SCHEDULE DEPENDS ON NUMBER OF APPLICATIONSThe BPSC said the final examination schedule will depend on the number of applications received. If the number of applicants is up to five lakh, the examination can be conducted in a single day. However, if more than five lakh candidates apply, the examination may be held over two or three days.According to BPSC, the TRE 4 exam date is likely to be announced in October. The examination itself is expected to be conducted in November or December.- EndsPublished By: Karan YadavPublished On: Aug 24, 2026 16:13 IST
