Boyfriend of murdered Argentine model arrested 3 years later while hiding in US

NewsJuan Manuel Reverter was arrested in Oregon after allegedly killing model Agostina Jalabert in Mexico.Patti Sapone | NJ Advance Media The man accused of killing his model girlfriend in Mexico in 2023 and fleeing to the United States has finally been arrested.According to Portland TV station KOIN, multiple agencies — including the U.S. Marshals, Interpol Washington and the Department of Homeland Security — found Juan Manuel Reverter, 38, on Thursday in Deschutes County, about 160 miles southeast of Portland.Reverter is suspected of killing his girlfriend, Argentine model Agostina Jalabert, in February 2023. Jalabert was found hanging from a towel rack by her sister in an apartment she and Reverter shared in Mexico. During the Mexican investigation, it was alleged that Reverter had strangled Jalabert and then hanged her body to make it look like a suicide." Reverter entered the United States legally on Aug. 4, 2024, on a visa, according to a DHS spokesperson who told KOIN. He remained in the country after it expired, and that he is being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.“He entered the country on Aug. 4, 2024, on a visa that would allow him to remain in the country for six months,” the DHS spokesperson said. “In violation of our nation’s laws, he overstayed his visa.
