Boy, 12, charged after eight-year-old girl ‘sexually assaulted at UK playpark’

NewsUK News A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with sexual assault after an 8-year-old girl was reportedly attacked at a playpark. Police were alerted to the reported assault in Macduff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on Monday, August 10. An investigation into the alleged sexual assault was launched and a 12-year-old boy was charged in connection. A report will be provided to the procurator fiscal. A spokesperson for Police Scotland previously said: “Enquiries are ongoing following a report of the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl in the Duff Street area of Macduff on Monday, August 10, 2026. “Officers are following a positive line of enquiry.” Locals reported seeing a police presence around Duff Street, near the Community and Sports Centre, after the alarm was raised. It’s understood the schoolgirl does not live in the town and was visiting from elsewhere in the council area. Specialist detectives are understood to be questioning other children as potential witnesses.
