Published Jul 27, 2026, 1:27 PM EDT Jennifer is a TV and Movie News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant. Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available. Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show. Her Alien: Earth coverage for ScreenRant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far. She was initially a finance and political editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism. During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it. Boston Blue finally receives an official release date. Boston Blue is a Blue Bloods spinoff series and continues to follow Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) after his move from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department to reconnect with his son Sean (Mika Amonsen). In Massachusetts, Danny teams up with Detective Lena Silver, who is played by Sonequa Martin-Green. CBS has confirmed that Boston Blue will return to screens on Friday, October 9 at 10 p.m. EST. The upcoming season of the police procedural drama will pick up in the aftermath of the dramatic season 1 finale. One of the biggest cliffhangers involves Lena's boyfriend, whose fate was left ambiguous after someone deliberately crashed into his car, forcing it off the road and into the water. The hit spinoff show has remained faithful to the universe that was created by the flagship series. Several familiar faces from Blue Bloods have also made appearances in Boston Blue, including Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan), Len Cariou (Henry Reagan), Will Hochman (Joe Hill), and Marisa Ramirez (Maria Baez). The series' creative team have stated in the past that they were more than willing to feature any cast members from the original series if it fits the storyline. Boston Blue season 2 will see the return of several actors. Those expected to appear in the second installment include Wahlberg, Martin-Green, Ramirez, Gloria Reuben (Mae Silver), Ernie Hudson (Reverend Edwin Peters), Maggie Lawson (Sarah Silver), and Marcus Scribner (Jonah Silver). Boston Blue is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, The Brandons, and CBS Studios. The series executive producers include Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Donnie Wahlberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed. Sonnier and Margolis also serve as co-showrunners. The original show, Blue Bloods, aired on CBS for 14 seasons, running from September 24, 2010, through December 13, 2024. The series followed the Reagans, all of whom have decided to work in law enforcement. The show starred Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan), Will Estes (Jamie Reagan), Jennifer Esposito (Jackie Curatola), Sami Gayle (Nicky Reagan-Boyle), and Vanessa Ray (Eddie Janko-Reagan), alongside Wahlberg, Moynahan, Cariou, and Ramirez. Boston Blue will return on Friday, October 9, on CBS.
