Bon Jovi Joined by Bruce Springsteen at Final Show of MSG Residency: Watch

Fans who attended the ninth and final show of Bon Jovi’s residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, July 26th, were treated to an appearance by fellow New Jersey legend Bruce Springsteen on two songs. The Boss joined Jon Bon Jovi and company during the encore, first playing guitar and singing on Bon Jovi’s “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” before the evening closed with the Springsteen classic “The Promised Land.” Get Bon Jovi Tickets Here The show also marked the first gig since Bon Jovi cut the previous MSG concert short after 14 songs due to Jon’s struggles with a sinus infection. The Bon Jovi frontman apparently recovered well enough for the band to perform a 19-song set on Sunday night. At the end of the shortened Thursday night show, Jon Bon Jovi told the audience to hang on to their ticket stubs, suggesting that the band would try to make it up to them. As of now, no makeup date or other specific plan has been announced. The nine-date MSG residency marked Bon Jovi’s first extended run of gigs since Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery. As Consequence noted in its review of the first MSG show, the singer gave a valiant effort despite not quite hitting the big notes he once did. With the Madison Square Garden residency wrapped up, Bon Jovi now have a string of five UK dates set for late August and early September (pick up tickets here). At this moment, those are the only other dates on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band’s upcoming schedule.
