Bohol, Leyte farmers get ‘ube’ planting materials

In a significant move to boost agricultural productivity, the Bureau of Plant Industry partnered with the Philippine Root Crop Research and Training Center to provide over 60,000 ube planting materials to 900 farmers in Leyte and Bohol. This initiative aims to enhance local food security and improve the livelihoods of these farmers by distributing high-quality planting materials worth P2.6 million. The focus on ube, a popular and economically important crop in the region, underscores the government’s commitment to supporting sustainable agricultural practices and local economies.
