(ABC News: Carole Howlett)Mr Young is also accused of attempting to murder Ross Tighe, who earlier told the trial that he witnessed the shooting by the defendant and escaped with a single bullet wound.Mr Young's lawyers have refuted Ross Tighe's account and said their client never saw the family on the day he was accused of shooting them.Prosecutors finished summarising their case earlier this week.Mr Young's lawyer, Anthony J Kimmins, opened the defence case on Thursday morning telling jurorsthat Mr Young would take the stand and two other witnesses, Sharon Young and Quinten Young, would be called."It is for the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Darryl Young was at the place at the time of the alleged offence," Mr Kimmins said."Darryl Young was not at the place that the alleged crime is alleged to have been committed."Mr Kimmins said the defence case would establish that Mr Young had an alibi.Mr Young is expected to give evidence later today.
