‘Bodies on the Ground’: Russian Drone Hits Kyiv Office, Killing 3 and Injuring 7

Correspondents for Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported hearing explosions in Kyiv during the Russian drone attack. Emergency services were heading to the affected building, while the number and condition of those injured remained unclear at the time of publication. Local Telegram channels circulated disturbing reports claiming that bodies could be seen on a street near the impact site. Ukrainian authorities had not confirmed any deaths, and Kyiv Post could not independently verify those reports. Residents were urged to remain in shelters while the threat continued and not to publish footage that could reveal the locations or operations of Ukrainian air defenses. The strike followed another Russian drone attack on Kyiv overnight Thursday into Friday. Debris from intercepted drones fell in several districts, damaging a 25-story residential building and non-residential premises and injuring at least one person. A large attack on Sept. 23 killed two people, injured dozens and disrupted internet and rail services across the capital. The latest strike came hours after a Russian drone hit a 16-story residential building in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district at around 8 a.m. The drone struck the building at the level of the 10th and 11th floors, according to Kyiv police. A 14-year-old boy was killed, while at least seven residents were injured. Investigators, explosives experts, rescuers and medics worked at the scene. Across Kyiv, the number of people injured during Friday’s attacks later rose to nine, eight of whom were hospitalized.
