Board of Peace reaches agreement to disarm Hamas in Gaza, Trump says

The Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday.Trump hailed the agreement as a “monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY” in the region.“This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks.” “This is a major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan,” he said. “The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors.”The development follows Trump’s efforts to secure peace between Israel and Hamas last October. The initial ceasefire and peace agreement were secured, but the Palestinian terrorist faction did not immediately move to disarm itself.Earlier this month, Hamas dismantled its own government in Gaza to make way for a new governing panel previously established by the Board of Peace.
