We're onto Overwatch now, with Aaron Keller seemingly sharing in the hype over StarCraft. UPDATE: 2026/09/12 13:51 EST New StarCraft game revealed StarCraft returns in 2030 with a new open-world shooter. 1:50PM - A cinematic trailer for the new StarCraft game focuses on recruits in training under the Dominion. 1:47PM - We are returning to "a universe forged in interstellar war" with a shooter - it sounds like StarCraft is going in a new direction. 1:43PM - After the success of adaptations like Netflix's Castlevania, Diablo seems like a perfect fit. There are also "great discussions being had" about adaptations of Overwatch and Warcraft, apparently. UPDATE: 2026/09/12 13:42 EST Diablo Netflix animated series announcement Blizzard and Netflix are "in development" on a Diablo animated series. 1:41PM - Blizzard is talking about "finding the absolute best creative partnerships" to tell stories in other mediums. UPDATE: 2026/09/12 13:40 EST New Heroes of the Storm hero revealed Warcraft's Xal'atath is coming to Heroes of the Storm. 1:39PM - Heroes of the Storm up first. 1:38PM - The first announcement will be something "near and dear" to Faries's heart. 1:35PM - Faries is shouting out Blizzard's role as "a beacon of creativity" in the world. 1:34PM - Blizzard president Johanna Faries is speaking. 1:31PM - Not an actual Diablo reveal, just an intense on-screen montage, followed by Overwatch. They'll presumably cycle through a celebration of all the big IPs before showing us any new announcement. 1:30PM - We're starting with Diablo. 1:20PM, Ben - After taking 2025 off, Blizzcon is back this year, and Blizzard will hopefully have a lot to show after the year of hiatus. Overwatch has been all-in on major updates recently (along with dropping the 2 from the name), and other IPs like World of Warcraft and Diablo might also be primed for reveals. The big announcements will likely arrive during the Opening Ceremony, kicking off at 1:30PM EDT. We'll be covering them live here, and you can follow along with the livestream below.
