Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi Announces First Solo Album In 21 Years

In 2000, after decades as the guitarist for Black Sabbath, the legendary Tony Iommi released his first solo album. He's since released collaborative albums with Glenn Hughes and Ian Gillian, but his only other proper solo LP to date is 2005's Fused. That's about to change.Iommi has announced From The Dark, his first solo album in 21 years. Out in October, it's also his first since last summer's Black Sabbath farewell concert and the subsequent death of Ozzy Osbourne. Iommi is joined on the album by Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande (who shares writing credits on all songs), bassist Becky Baldwin, and drummer Karl Brazil, and he co-produced it with longtime collaborator Mike Exeter.Director Ryan Mackfall's video for the soaring, crunching, immensely satisfying lead single "World Alone" is set in a retrofuturistic dystopia, where the protagonist finds himself fighting for his life inside a video game.
