The series gave fans most of what they wanted in the end, with the Clover Kingdom's greatest existential threat vanquished, and a fair fight to decide the successor to Julius Novachrono for the throne as Wizard King. Fans knew all along that, in the end, it would come down to a battle between Asta and Yuno, as they promised upon becoming Magic Knights, to decide who would take on the role. But for those seeking a slightly less underwhelming epilogue than what came in the final chapter, Black Clover has a true ending coming in a week. Set for release on August 4, the Black Clover official guidebook, Perfect Grimoire, is set to drop alongside volume 38, which contains the final chapters of the manga. The guidebook in particular is attracting attention, though, for reportedly featuring an exclusive additional 15 pages of manga from Tabata to bring a greater sense of closure to fans in Japan first, much like recently in the case of Jujutsu Kaisen volume 30 and My Hero Academia volume 42. With the anime's long-awaited continuation on the way in October, and Weekly Shonen Jump moving forward with a host of new-gen series, there's still plenty to look forward to with Black Clover. Black Clover's True Ending Comes August 4 Set for release in just one week, the Black Clover: Perfect Grimoire will be a 320-page tome releasing first in Japan with a likely VIZ Media localization at a later date for English readers. The series is set to feature over 250 character profiles, a layout on the series' expansive set of more than 400 spells, as well as a dedicated Q&A by Tabata featuring burning questions about various characters in the series. The book is also, crucially, set to show an additional 15 pages dedicated to Asta's coronation as Wizard King. Given the mild timeskip between the results of his duel with Yuno, and the final chapter showing him appearing to intercept a mysterious airship, this could grant additional context to what's been happening at the Clover Kingdom. This comes even as Black Clover's ending was relatively non-controversial compared to others like Chainsaw Man, while also not doing much to have a truly impactful finale. Asta achieved his dreams, standing as a symbolic defiance to the class prejudice in a world governed by magic. Yuno's Spade Kingdom heritage didn't get meaningfully addressed either, so there's a chance that could get at least some panels its way. While certain romantic pairings, particularly surrounding Asta's prospects, are uncertain to ever get a proper conclusive answer by design. But even then, the true Black Clover ending may not address other burning questions in its final 15 pages. Asta's Coronation Is Great, But Other Black Clover Questions Remain Unanswered While the moment Asta becomes the Wizard King will be a cathartic moment for readers, and will almost certainly be elegantly animated in a future season for the anime, the final pages have plenty to answer for. Black Clover famously has multiple unanswered questions surrounding its characters, particularly regarding the identity of Asta's father. Another popular question brought up about the series is Charmy Pappitson's surprising dwarven heritage, but even several chapters would be needed, as opposed to some meager dedicated panels, to make any such answers not feel perfunctory or rushed.
