When he's not writing, you may find him editing on his favorite anime, movie, or pop star on his Instagram. Black Clover is heading into one of the biggest stretches of the Spade Kingdom Raid, and the Dark Triad are giving the Magic Knights plenty to worry about. Dante Zogratis has already shown just how difficult he is to put down, while the fight against the Spade Kingdom's devil-backed forces is only getting started. After such a long wait for the anime's return, there's a lot riding on these battles, especially for fans who've been waiting to see some of Black Clover’s biggest moments brought to life. The tricky part is that brute force won't be enough against opponents like Dante. His Gravity Magic and regeneration make him a pain to deal with, and Asta's Anti-Magic remains one of the few real counters to the devils' powers. But with Asta still working to master Devil Union with Liebe, the other Magic Knights have to carry the fight for now. Jack the Ripper's ongoing clash with Dante should be particularly interesting, given how his Severing Magic adapts to what it cuts. The fight also gives Studio Pierrot another chance to deliver the sharp action and animation that helped make the series' return such a big talking point. Jack The Ripper Takes On Dante When Black Clover Season 2, Episode 3 Drops October 17 Black Clover season 2, episode #3, titled "The Door to Hell", is officially set to premiere on Crunchyroll on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 8:00 AM PT. After setting the board, Jack the Ripper is set for a rough time against Dante Zogratis, whose Gravity Magic and devil-powered regeneration make him incredibly difficult to take down. The Green Mantis’ captain Severing Magic can adapt to what he cuts, but there's only so much room for trial and error when Dante can crush an opponent before they get a clean hit in. Nacht Faust is already in trouble, too. Episode 2 saw the Qliphoth tree accelerate and two supreme devils arrive, putting the Vice-Captain in a dangerous position as the raid takes a turn for the worse. Their arrival raises the stakes for the Magic Knights, who are already struggling to contain the Dark Triad and the threat posed by the underworld's strongest devils. Episode 2 also had a few animation moments that stood out for the wrong reasons. Some of the movement during Nacht and Dante's clash felt stiff, while Dante's 80% devil form looked a little off-model compared with his manga design. Studio Pierrot has delivered some strong action since the anime returned, but Jack's upcoming fight is a chance to bring more fluid movement and impact to the raid's biggest clashes. Asta's eventual return remains another major thing to look forward to. His training with Liebe has been building toward Devil Union, a power-up that could change the balance against devil hosts like Dante. Until then, the other Magic Knights have to keep fighting, and the Spade Kingdom Raid is giving them very little breathing room. Episode 2 Had Stiff Spots, But Studio Pierrot Can't Afford To Stumble As Black Clover Escalates The Spade Kingdom Raid has no shortage of Black Clover's best fights lined up, and Jack taking on Dante is only one part of the mess. Yuno and Langris have Zenon to deal with, Charlotte is going up against Vanica with her modified briar magic, and Mereoleona is doing exactly what she does best, going completely solo to punch out a colossal Ancient Demon with raw hellfire. There's also plenty riding on Studio Pierrot's return to Black Clover. The series has some seriously good fights ahead, and fans will want to see the animation keep up when these matchups reach their most intense moments. Episode 2 had a few stiff spots, but the raid offers plenty of chances to get things back on track, particularly with Jack's adaptive Severing Magic going up against Dante's overwhelming power. With the Dark Triad still standing and Asta's Devil Union looming on the horizon, the war is far from settled. Black Clover's next episodes have some huge moments to deliver, and seeing how the Magic Knights handle these battles should make the wait worthwhile.
