BJP demands Punjab CM’s resignation over death of a man

File. | Photo Credit: ANI The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) demanded Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s resignation over the death of a man who was reportedly pressured to apologise after questioning a State Minister over the drug menace in his village.At a press conference, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused the State government of inaction on the issue of growing drug abuse. He said Gulzar Singh of Sangrur had approached Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, complaining that his son was consuming drugs and urging action to save the youth of Punjab.Mr. Bhatia alleged that Gulzar Singh was threatened and harassed, following which he made a video holding four people responsible for his situation, and later died in a hospital.
