Biologists seek justice for forgotten kingdom of fungi

At a UN summit focused on preserving plants and animals, biologists are highlighting the overlooked fungal kingdom, which is vastly diverse yet often neglected. Mycologists argue that fungi play crucial roles in ecosystems, from decomposing organic matter to forming symbiotic relationships with plants. They're pushing for more recognition and protection of fungi, not just for their ecological importance but also for their potential in medicine and industry. This movement underscores the broader issue of biodiversity conservation and the need to recognize all forms of life.
