This month that limit will be 150,000 (total, whether you’re transferring to Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Red or both). You can spend Bilt Cash to ‘buy up’ to a transfer bonus one level higher than your status. Golds buying up from 45% to 75% and maxing out the transfer bonus are getting 45,000 extra Virgin miles for for $200 Bilt Cash. Virgin Atlantic is the flight rewards program. Virgin Red is the broader program with other kinds of redemptions. Just think of them as the same program and you can move points back and forth between Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. If you spend Bilt Cash to boost your transfer bonus tier, that boost applies to transfers both to Virgin Red and to Flying Club if you happened to want to transfer some points into each (although you could also transfer only to one program, and then move them between Virgin programs). I Don’t Need More Virgin Miles But I Think I’m Going To Do This I have a decent chunk of these points already. But Virgin points don’t expire so I don’t need to use them immediately. It’s just 12,000 miles in coach from the East Coast and 15,000 miles from the West Coast. Intra-Europe coach on Air France KLM starts at 4,000 miles. Short haul intra-Europe business can be as low as 8,000 miles. How I’m Doubling The Transfer Bonus And Points Accelerator Caps I got my wife an authorized user card on my Bilt Palladium Card (See rates and fees) account. The card has a $495 annual fee. It earns up to 1.25X points on rent and mortgage payments with no transaction fee. And it earns 2X points on everyday spend. The initial bonus offer is 50,000 Bilt Points + Gold Status after spending $4,000 on everyday purchases in the first 90 days + $300 of Bilt Cash. Benefits include a $400 Bilt Travel Hotel credit. That makes the card up to a 3x earner, aside from earning for my mortgage payment. However I’ve maxed out those 5 accelerators already. And I can only transfer up to 100,000 Bilt Points for a monthly Rent Day bonus. But my wife can use her own accelerators and she has her own 100,000 point transfer bonus cap. So I’ve now chosen to credit points from her card spend to her account instead of mine, and the Bilt Cash earned from her card spend to her account instead of mine. She’s earning Bilt status, will use those 5 accelerators, and max out a transfer bonus or to in addition to my doing so.
