Bihar Board replaces fail on marksheets with eligible for skill training

Students who do not clear the board exams will instead be marked “Eligible for Skill Training”.Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced the proposed change at a review meeting. The rules will be amended, and BSEB will receive directions to implement the new terminology.SKILL TRAINING ROUTE FOR STUDENTSThe move aims to reduce the stigma around exam failure and encourage students to explore vocational options. The government said students can pursue skill-based training through the Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination (BBOSE).The Education Department has also announced one-month special classes for students appearing for the Matric supplementary examination. The classes will provide additional preparation to help students improve their results. Bihar is also expanding learning opportunities beyond traditional academics. Government schools now observe “no-bag days” on Saturdays, featuring activities such as theatre, music and other creative pursuits.The state has launched the “Vidya Saathi” app for Classes 9 to 12, connecting students with teachers for academic support.
