The Rajasthan Council of School Education has extended existing vocational education contracts under two tenders. The move keeps trainers in place and classes running in over 2,100 government schools until the tender process ends. For thousands of vocational trainers working in Rajasthan government schools, the Rajasthan Council of School Education (RCScE) has extended the existing contracts under two major vocational education tenders, ensuring that no trainer will lose employment until the ongoing tender process is completed. The decision comes shortly after Aaj Tak, the sister news outlet of India Today, highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the future of vocational trainers whose contracts were nearing expiry despite fresh tenders yet to be finalized.Acting on the issue, the Rajasthan Council of School Education issued separate orders extending the contracts under Tender No. 03/2022-23 and Tender No. 21/2022-23. The orders, signed by State Project Director and Commissioner Dr. Rashmi Sharma, state that the existing agreements will remain valid for 20 days or until the tender process is completed, whichever is earlier. The extension covers vocational trainers, Skill Knowledge Facilitators (SKFs) and vocational coordinators engaged through Vocational Training Providers (VTPs). According to the official orders:Tender No. 03/2022-23 (NIB Code: RSE2223A0247) covers 1,520 government schools. Tender No. 21/2022-23 (NIB Code: RSE2223A1369) covers 586 government schools through an Online Open Competitive Bid (OCB). The original tender documents confirm the scope of work for the 586 newly approved schools under the vocational education programme. The orders clearly state that all existing terms and conditions of the contracts will continue during the extension period and that district authorities and schools must inform the concerned vocational trainers and Skill Knowledge Facilitators. The extension has been approved by the competent authority. The move effectively ensures that vocational education classes in more than 2,100 government schools will continue uninterrupted while the state government completes the procurement process for selecting new Vocational Training Providers. The temporary extension is expected to bring relief to thousands of contractual trainers who had expressed concerns over possible discontinuation of services due to delays in finalising fresh tenders.Rajasthan's vocational education programme is implemented under Samagra Shiksha and the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), with trainers deployed through empanelled Vocational Training Providers. While the extension prevents an immediate disruption in services, the future engagement of trainers will depend on the outcome of the ongoing tender process and the appointment of new implementing agencies.- EndsPublished By: Rishab ChauhanPublished On: Aug 5, 2026 18:36 IST
