Big Brother fans plead for bosses to make last-minute change as new eye is revealed

BIG Brother fans have admitted they are keen for the upcoming series to ditch the planned celebrity housemate. Chatter about the impending series on ITV has sprung into overload since the reveal of this year’s Big Brother eye yesterday. Following Celebrity Big Brother being axed for 2026 earlier this year, The Sun told how former celebrity housemates would instead be returning as guests throughout the upcoming civilian run. But long-time fans have insisted that ITV should scrap the decision in a bid to keep the two formats separate. Airing their divided thoughts on the next run, one fan said: “Over 25k people auditioned and you’re telling me the pool of people wasn’t good enough that they have to bring in ex housemates!?” Another added: “Don’t want ex celebrities guest appearances.” Meanwhile, others have begged for the format to go even more back to basics and mirror the show’s first ever series – with less influencers and more real-life, including the return of the show’s infamous chickens. One person said: “I love it.. just want everything like BB1 again even the chickens back.” Most read in TV With someone else writing online: “I want them to make it less Love Island, smaller house, less colour, not as much pop music.” Last night, Big Brother fans were left excited when this year’s eye was finally revealed. The purple-tinged design is based on a real life eye with a background of over 400 other eyes, taking the catchphrase “Big Brother is watching” to a whole new level. It’s the first time the emblem has resembled an actual eye since series one, back in 2000. With over 157million streams on ITVX, Big Brother is still one of the channel’s big hitters and the next series, hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, will span eight weeks.
