When Michael Myers is chasing you around Haddonfield, you don't really have time to debate the finer points of weapon design. You need something that can put some distance between you and the Shape, preferably before he turns you into another unfortunate statistic. Halloween: The Game gives you a handful of melee weapons and firearms to work with, and some are considerably more useful than others. I've ranked every weapon based on how useful it is in a matc. Some weapons are great for getting aggressive, while others are better suited to keeping Michael at a safer distance. There are definitely some weapons I'd rather have in my hands when the chase starts. Weapon Tier List Our rankings are determined by: S Tier: The absolute best weapons. These are the ones I'd prioritize grabbing. A Tier: Excellent weapons that are highly effective but have a few drawbacks compared to the S Tier picks. Still great choices in most situations. B Tier: Solid, dependable weapons that get the job done but don't have anything that makes them particularly exceptional. C Tier: Usable in a pinch, but these weapons have noticeable weaknesses that make them less desirable than the options above them. Basically, I'll take it if it's what I've got. S Tier Shotgun Axe Pickaxe The Shotgun is easily one of the best weapons you can have when Michael is breathing down your neck. Its stopping power makes it particularly useful when you need to create some breathing room. The Axe and Pickaxe are basically the gold standard for melee weapons. You need to get considerably closer to Michael than you would with a firearm, but the Axe makes that risk worthwhile. If you're playing as Meyers, you can use them to easily bust down doors as well. A Tier Hunting Rifle Cleaver The Hunting Rifle gives you good range and solid stopping power. It's a little less convenient than the Shotgun, but being able to attack without getting directly into Michael's personal space is a pretty significant advantage. The Cleaver is a strong middle-ground melee option. It doesn't have quite the same appeal as the Axe, but it's reliable and useful when you need something capable of doing serious damage up close. B Tier Revolver Hatchet Kitchen Knife The Revolver is dependable and considerably better than having absolutely nothing, but it doesn't quite reach the same level as the Shotgun or Hunting Rifle. The Hatchet is a perfectly respectable melee weapon, especially when you're caught without a firearm. It's easier to work with than some of the weaker options, but its smaller size means it doesn't quite have the same intimidation factor or effectiveness as the Axe. The Kitchen Knife is iconic, appropriate, and very much on-brand for Halloween. Unfortunately, being thematically perfect doesn't automatically make it the best weapon. It's useful in a pinch, but its short range means you're taking a risk every time you get close enough to use it. C Tier Pitchfork Baseball Bat The Pitchfork certainly looks like it should be terrifying, but its usefulness doesn't quite match its appearance. The extra reach is handy for a melee weapon, though it's still ultimately putting you within Michael's preferred stabbing-and-slashing distance. It's usable, just not something I'd be rushing to pick up. The Baseball Bat is another perfectly serviceable option that doesn't particularly stand out. It's better than going into a confrontation empty-handed, but there are stronger melee choices available. If it's the only thing nearby, grab it. If an Axe is sitting five feet away, well... you know what I'm picking.
