Best Nigella Lawson cookbooks after her Great British Bake Off debut

Last night we kicked off what I like to call ‘baking season’; others call it Autumn. The leaves are turning brown; my day revolves around hot drinks and, most importantly, Bake Off has started. But this year, joining Paul Hollywood for series 17, is ‘domestic goddess’, Nigella Lawson.Lawson’s signature charm and sensual approach to hosting is being described as the ‘icing on the cake’ and the refresh the show needed. Her years of experience in the industry and the name she has made for herself make her the perfect replacement for Prue Leith. Lawson has penned a dozen cookbooks since 1998, starting with How to Eat, a cookbook conceived after she observed a dinner party host in tears over an unset creme caramel. Since then, many of her cookbooks, like Nigellissima, Cook Eat Repeat and At My Table, have been turned into very successful TV shows. From her Guinness cake (which we all drooled at last night) to her Pavlova recipe that I pull out every Christmas, her books teach that indulgence doesn't mean complicated. Simplicity is at the heart of her cooking, whether you’re making something for comfort or something to impress dinner party guests with; she has a book for it all. These are some of our favourite cookbooks for when you’re next in need of a foodie fix:How To Eat (1998)AmazonHer first cookbook that sold 300,000 copies in Britain offers culinary tips on preparation and saving time. At the heart of the book, it's all about practicality and is a great cookbook for those looking to really perfect the basics. Nigellissima (2012)AmazonBorn out of her long love affair with Italy, Nigellissima is a celebration of Lawson’s time living, working and learning to cook in Italy. Over 120 recipes, you’ll learn everything from rich lasagne to panna cotta. At My Table: A Celebration of Home Cooking (2017)AmazonThe perfect cookbook for achievable and comforting meals, At My Table celebrates the food that Lawson shares and cooks for her friends and family. This cookbook is for those who want flavoursome food without the fuss.
