Lead is one of several materials you'll need to craft things in Subnautica 2, but it can be one of the hardest to track down as well. This is largely because not only is it found a decent distance away from your lifepod, but there are only a couple of locations where you can actually find it at this point in Subnautica 2's early access. Where To Find Lead As mentioned above, Lead isn't as plentiful as most of the materials in Subnautica 2, which is a bit surprising considering that it's used to make one of the key food ingredients, Sugar of Saturn. When pulling it up on the Scanner Station, which you can build on your base, only two visible locations appear, and they're fairly close together, which means there's only one general direction where you'll be able to find Lead. There is a chance this will change as patches come out in preparation for the 1.0 release, but for now, you'll have to work with what's there. Thankfully, the locations that contain Lead have several large deposits that you can use the Sonic Resonator on, so you should be able to come back with a full inventory if you clear up some space before you head out. Of course, you need Lead to make the Sonic Resonator first, so you may have to make a second trip. As for where to search, you'll want to head about 254 meters East-Northeast (65 degrees) from the lifepod. Once you're there, you'll find the Lead at a depth of about 60m. If you need something to help you pinpoint the location, there will be an underwater current running along where the Lead deposits are, which you can follow, and you should be able to find some next to a small research table with a Tadpole Fragment you can scan next to it. The second location for Lead is near this one, just a bit more Northeast, so as long as you're looking in this general area, you should have no trouble finding plenty of it. That said, pay attention to what you're picking up, as Lead and Titanium are similar in color and easy to mix up if you're not paying attention.
