Monday was a big day for Orange Beach freshman Amarie Trammell. But then, everything about Trammell is big. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers offered Trammell a scholarship two games into his freshman season. The Tide and Tigers joined Ole Miss and Arkansas as SEC schools that have already offered the defensive lineman/tight end.Trammell is 6-foot-6 and weighs 285 pounds. He is a nightmare for defenders to try to tackle, even though his long-term future is very likely on the defensive front.RELATED: Ben’s top 10 players from Week 2This week, Trammell enters the latest Best in Bama, AL.com’s rankings of the top high school football prospects in the state regardless of classification or graduating class. The emergence of Trammell gives Orange Beach two players in the rankings, joining junior tight end Lee Steele.Orange Beach joins Thompson, Williamson, Prattville, Spain Park, Benjamin Russell, Saraland, Central-Phenix City, Vigor, Mae Jemison and Selma as schools with more than one player in the rankings.Both players from Selma moved up in this week’s Best in Bama rankings after a fast start to the season. Quarterback Kole Moody is now No. 45, while Alabama commit wide receiver Cedrick Simmons is No. 47. Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn continues to rise as he inches closer to becoming the state’s all-time career passing leading. The Alabama commit, now No. 9 on the list, could break the record this week against Vestavia Hills. The other Best in Bama riser is Kylen Johnson who had four touchdowns of 33 yards or longer for Plainview last week. The junior is uncommitted.
