Giving the right gift that aligns with the recipient's taste results in a hefty support boost roughly equivalent to inviting that character to a meal they love. However, figuring out what everyone likes isn't always easy, not when some list their likes as "looks of fear" or other such things you normally can't buy in stores. Below, we break down the best gifts for every character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Gift items and where to find them in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Image: Intelligent Systems/Nintendo via Polygon Gift giving is a weekly activity in Fortune's Weave, so you can only give each character one thing once per week. You'll find a dizzying array of gift items at different market vendors in towns and cities across the world map, though there's also one in Dagsion at the end of the shopping arcade. You can purchase drinks, including coffee and Cervi, from the lowtown tavern, too. Dagsion's shops restock and add new items at the start of each chapter. Fortune's Weave breaks them into several broad categories: Fashion Beauty Flowers Cooking Fermented drinks Beverages Coffee Training Weapons Military Horses Books Board games Vegetables Crafting Fishing Archery There's a small handful of other categories as well, like agriculture, travel, and "spicy foods," though these have maybe one or two items each in them. You can see what category an item belongs to in the item description, so make sure to read that before handing anything over. They also come in different rarities. Common gifts have a darker blue-green colored icon. Uncommon ones are a lighter shade with a symbol in the bottom-right corner, and rare ones are lighter still with a little sparkle in the upper-left corner. Some characters only prefer uncommon or rare items regardless of what category they belong to. You can see the amount of support points gained at the top of the screen, and a text banner shows up with the reaction after you give the gift. They don't like it (no support gain) They kind of like it (small support gain) They liked it (moderate support gain) They really liked it (big support gain) They really liked it, with two yellow arrows (double points, reserved for favorite items) In most cases, a character who loves a specific category will like everything in that category, though we have run into a few exceptions. Nydine, for example, loves horse grooming kits, but isn't so great with mane ornaments. There's an in-game reason for that and other such anomalies. She loves orniuses (giant dinosaur-like ostrich mounts). You can use a grooming kit for an ornius, but they have no mane, so naturally, she has no use for mane ornaments. Everyone also has at least one favorite item that gets you double support points. We haven't found everyone's favorites, as the number of gift items is quite high and many of them are rare and expensive. However, finding the favorite is a bonus, rather than a requirement. Between "really liked" items and meals, you can raise support enough to recruit allies without ever finding their ideal gift. With how expensive buying gifts can be, and how hard it is to find things like training items, make sure to plan ahead and decide who you want that extra support boost for. Use meals at the inn to make up the gap and to raise levels with other characters who aren't receiving gifts. And if you haven't got something the recipient "really likes" one week or even during a whole chapter, it's fine to settle for something they just tolerate. There's plenty of time to raise support before the first act ends, so don't sweat it.
