Nintendo Best Buy confirmed the good news via an announcement on its website, but there’s a catch if you want to try and get one of the few consoles it will have in store - you’ll have to go get it yourself in the middle of the night. That’s because Best Buy is tying its Zelda Switch 2 restock to a good old-fashioned midnight release for Nintendo’s Ocarina of Time remake. The midnight opening will be held across various Best Buy locations on Thursday, November 5, 2026, a date many of you will already have circled on your calendars since it’s Ocarina release day. If you want a physical copy of the remake, and you don’t want to wait for it to arrive in the mail or for stores to open at the regular time the following morning, you can go pick one up at Best Buy so you can take it home to start playing it right away. You might also be able to play it on the aforementioned Zelda-themed Switch 2, although Best Buy does note that the availability of the console will be limited. The same applies to the matching Pro Controller that will also be restocked for the event. The controller, like the console, sold out incredibly quickly after Nintendo opened pre-orders. You Can Adjust Pre-Existing Pre-Orders If you have already placed an Ocarina of Time pre-order through Best Buy and you’re now cursing your luck as if you’d waited, you’d have opted to pick it up at midnight, it’s not too late. You can log into your Best Buy account and amend your order so that it can be picked up in store during a midnight opening rather than shipped to you later that same day. Zelda fans in the US now have a big reason to choose Best Buy over other retailers when considering where they're going to buy Ocarina of Time. Multiple reasons if they want the new Switch 2.
