She's spent her life chasing Platinum trophies and completionist collections, even before a company started paying her to do it on the internet. We've been seeing plenty more Espers popping up as playable character pulls from the Scarborough Fair gacha mechanic in Neverness to Everness, with a handful debuting in the game's launch and several more introduced since. Iroi is one such Esper, from the same Containment Strike Unit as a few other Espers you know and love. Finding the best build for Iroi in NTE can be a bit tricky, but pairing her with the best team and ensuring she's got the best Arc for her kit and the strongest Console build she can have will let Iroi shine bright in NTE. Iroi Overview It's not often we've seen support characters enter the fray in Neverness to Everness, with so much focus on outright DPS so you can effectively do your job for the Bureau, but Iroi has arrived as an S-Rank Esper to bring potent Anima damage to your best Charge-based team comps. Hopefully you're ready for some adorable animal pals, too, since Iroi comes with several sheep she'll bring to the field! As a healer, you'll typically see Iroi built more for healing and buffing than attacking outright, but she's also quite capable of using her Anima damage to help you trigger all kinds of Esper Reactions with characters using Lakshana or Cosmos damage. She'll pair well with most of your DPS characters, especially those with effective reactions with her Anima abilities. Not only can Iroi heal characters on the field, though, she's also able to revive fallen characters through her unique dream-based ability, Regression. This makes her ideal for high-damage teams that may be punching above their weight in the next fight, since she's easily able to bring your heaviest hitters back onto the field as needed. Iroi's Esper Abilities Basic Attacks Collaboration: Summons lambs to perform up to 5 consecutive attacks that deal Anima damage. Builds Imagination when attacks hit. Daydream: Hold Basic Attack to charge up, consuming Imagination based on the charge duration to unleash up to 3 instances of Anima damage. Hold Basic Attack during Iroi's other moves to consume Imagination and unleash a third instance of Daydream. Lucid Dream: Hold Basic Attack a second time after Iroi uses Daydream to consume Imagination and summon Morpheus to unleash sustained fire that deals Anima damage with each blow. Skill (Future Self Continuity) Self-Identity Extension: Press to activate. Summons lambs to heal team members one time and grant a party-wide Attack bonus based on Iroi's base Attack stat. Summons three lambs to attack, dealing Anima damage and pulling enemies in. Using Self-Identity Extension builds Imagination for Iroi. Future Self Continuity: Hold to activate. Creates dreamlike illusions, causing 3 allies to enter the Regression state and assist in battle. (Regression is automatically removed after combat.) Passive: While Iroi is in combat on the team, any ally who falls enters the Regression state, building Imagination each time. Ultimate (3.8 Billion-Year Mirage) Triggers different effects based on the amount of Imagination built. Below the Threshold: Continuously heals allies on the team. At the Threshold: Deals continuous Anima damage. Switching to a character in Regression revives the character and restores a portion of their HP. Their dream ends when Imagination is fully depleted, and the character returns to Regression. While the dream is active, Imagination cannot build, but casting Daydream and Lucid Dream do not consume Imagination during this time to compensate. Support Skill (Bang!) Picks up Morpheus and strikes forward, dealing an instance of Anima damage, building Imagination, and healing every Esper on Iroi's team. Support Skill Enhancements Mirror Image: Blossom Enhancement. Generated a Vita Bud Copy when the current Vita Bud has existed for 3 seconds. The copy cannot duplicate and does not count toward the Vita Bud limit. The copy produces 20 Copied Vita Pistils, flying toward the target every half-second and exploding to deal 37.5% of the original Vita Pistil's damage. Sympathetic Nerves: Grants all team members an additional 5% defense ignore ability for 20 seconds while Iroi heals. Best Arc And Console For Iroi Best Arcs for Iroi Signature Arc: The Wrong Gate Increases Attack by 16%. When Iroi performs healing, improve her Anima damage dealt by 30%, and improve all allies' damage dealt by 15% for 20 seconds. Resets the duration when triggered again. Best Gold Arc: Youthful Fantasy Increases Break intensity by 60. Seals Arc: Black Tome with two chains by default. Unleashes a chain each time someone on Iroi's team casts a Support Skill, making the Black Tome available after both chains are unleashed to summon the Black Tome for 20 seconds. This designates an enemy every 5 seconds and increases Chaos damage dealt to these enemies, dealing 2% of their Chaos damage when they take Break damage. Best Purple Arc: Clear Skies Increases Anima damage dealt by Iroi's Redirect and Ultimate by 20%. Best Console for Iroi Cartridge: Speedy Hedgehog 2-Piece Epic Bonus: Charge Efficiency +12% 4-Piece Legendary Bonus: Increases all of Iroi's team members' Attack by 15% for 20 seconds after she casts her Ultimate. Best Module Pieces for Iroi: Attack Percentage and Attack Rate, Crit Damage and Crit Rate, and Cycle Intensity Best Team Comp For Iroi Shinku Hathor/Chaos Zero Best F2P Team Comp For Iroi Zero Skia Edgar While healer characters can typically be multi-tools on their respective teams in gacha games no matter which elements you've got, with reactions and Esper Cycles the way they are in NTE, this means Iroi will do best on certain teams above others. The best way we've seen fans describe Iroi is that she's something of a support character for any team that focuses on the Charge reaction or any combination of the elements on the top section of the wheel of six: Cosmos, Lakshana, and Anima. She does quite a number as a buff on a team she's meant to be helping and healing, so you'll want to keep this in mind as you build the best team for Iroi in NTE. At the time of publishing this guide, she's something of a main support for Shinku if you pulled her as well, or anything other potent Cosmos Esper if you didn't. Though also S-rank characters, either Chaos or Hathor work well on this team comp for Iroi, too, to bring a mix of potent Lakshana abilities to the battlefield for Iroi to react with to impart extra damage during combat. Chaos will compete with Shinku for the role of main DPS as a powerful hitter himself, but Hathor is quicker with her Lakshana skills. If you're looking for good F2P teammates for Iroi after whaling on the Scarborough Fair to get her, though, then keep trying to cover your bases with the Esper Cycles here. Edgar brings Cosmos damage to the table and Skia will be helpful with Lakshana as well, with both easy to level up to their maximum as A-rank pulls on the gacha meaning you'll be receiving copies often for their Awakenings. Rounding out the team is a surprise appearance from Esper Zero, your player character, who is great for Cycle building, which Iroi uses a lot on both her F2P team comps and her general team comps. Best Awakenings For Iroi Iroi's Awakening Effects Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma Restores 3 Imagination per second while Iroi is off-field, and increased Imagination gain by 30%. Grants Iroi maximum Imagination whenever she enters battle. Strategy: Tit for Tat Summons Morpheus, Icelos, or Phantasmos (at random) when Iroi's teammate casts a skill, performing an assist attack that deals damage equal to 200% of Iroi's Attack. Restores team members' HP by 120% of Iroi's Attack. Trait: Cooperative Increases all of Iroi's healer effects by 36%. Trait: Retaliatory Increases the Attack ratio of lambs that replace allies in Regression. Morpheus: Sweet Dreams and Deep Slumber both up by 30%. Icelos: Little Prick and Double Dose both up by 30%. Phantasmos: Lullaby Time and Off-Key both up by 30%. Trait: Transparent Additional Sympathetic Nerves Effect: Increases all team members' Attack by 15% of Iroi's base Attack for 20 seconds. Trait: Forgiving Grants 100% HP, 50 Cycle Energy, and 50 Ultimate Energy to any character revived when Iroi casts her Ultimate, 3.8 Billion-Year Mirage. Resonance Effects for Iroi's Awakenings 3-Awakening Resonance Effect: Primate Among All Things Increases the skill level of Collaboration, Future Self Continuity, and 3.8 Billion-Year Mirage by 1. Increases all of Iroi's team members' Attack by 30% while she's on the team. 6-Awakening Resonance Effect: Self-Proclaimed Crown of Creation Increases all of Iroi's team member's Crit Damage by 25% while she's on the team. Increases Iroi's damage dealt by 15% and her Crit Rate by 5% for each teammate in Regression. The best way to build Iroi's Awakenings in NTE will depend mostly on how you use her, with some traits improving healing over attacks or buffs. We're unlocking all of Iroi's Awakenings in the following order: Strategy: Tit for Tat to get the most out of cooperating with the best team for Iroi and improving her ability to help with damage even when she's off-field. The healing bonus it comes with certainly doesn't help. Trait: Forgiving, since we've not really gotten a character who can resurrect fallen teammates before Iroi, and we'd like to make the most of her ability by also granting buffs to those teammates. Trait: Cooperative to ensure Iroi is the best healer she can be, especially if you've given her the best build and kit. Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma gives Iroi the best boost while she's off-field, ensuring she comes back into the fight with more Imagination than she left with. Trait: Retaliatory makes the lambs in battle in the stead of fallen teammates for Iroi more powerful, which is a nice way to begin rounding out her build once you've focused on more directly-beneficial healing perks. Trait: Transparent is a good way to boost team Attack power as you pull your final copy of Iroi.
