Bengaluru Traffic Police issue advisory amid heavy rain forecast

Dark clouds gather over the city as pedestrians cross a footbridge in Bengaluru on September 30, 2026. | Photo Credit: SUDHAKARA JAIN In view of the forecast of heavy rainfall in Bengaluru on Wednesday (September 30, 2026), the Bengaluru Traffic Police issued an advisory to motorists and the public, urging them to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during intense spells of rain.Motorists have been advised to drive carefully, particularly on roads where rainwater has accumulated, as waterlogging could affect traffic movement and road safety.The Traffic Police have also cautioned people against taking shelter in underpasses during heavy rain if it obstructs the movement of vehicles and other road users. Commuters using such locations have been urged to ensure that traffic flow is not blocked.The public has been advised to use the BTP ASTraM app and the Bengaluru Traffic Police’s social media platforms for authentic, real-time information on traffic congestion and other incidents. The Traffic Division said precautionary measures have been taken to manage possible disruptions and ensure smooth movement of traffic, and appealed to the public to cooperate with the police.
