The captain hit a car, drove away with me still on the bike, and we got CHASED through Bangalore.”The man wrote that the ride took a dramatic turn at a red signal where vehicles had stopped. The Rapido captain failed to pay proper attention and crashed directly into a stationary car.The impact nearly toppled the bike and left much of its weight on the passenger’s left ankle, causing him considerable pain. The car owner then got out and asked the rider to move aside so they could discuss the accident. The passenger said they were speaking in Kannada, so he could not follow the conversation, but described the car owner as seemingly calm and simply wanting to address what had happened. After waiting at the signal for a minute or two, however, the rider started the bike again, with the passenger still seated behind him, and drove away. That was when the situation turned into a chase. The passenger said he immediately began shouting at the rider to stop and continued doing so for around 1 to 1.5 km, but the captain ignored him. Instead, he kept turning into increasingly narrow roads while the damaged car followed them.At several points, the car reportedly came dangerously close to the bike, with the passenger fearing it could hit his already injured leg. He described being stuck on the back of the bike, unable to get off, while simultaneously trying to make the rider stop and watching a car pursue them. The passenger compared the bizarre ordeal to “GTA Vice City in real life”, adding that unlike the video game, there was no respawn button if something went wrong.Eventually, the rider took him into a narrow street and told him to get off without properly stopping the bike. According to the passenger, the captain then pulled his helmet off his head and left without checking whether he was injured or asking if he was okay.He said he immediately contacted Rapido customer care and asked for the rider’s number so he could file a police complaint. However, he claimed the company did not provide the number and instead advised him to visit a hospital or book another Rapido ride.Later that evening, he was reportedly told that the matter had been escalated to Rapido’s P0, or Priority Zero, team. However, he said that even after four to five hours, nobody had contacted him.The passenger said he had retained screenshots of the ride and its completion notification, along with photographs showing the damage to the car.He maintained that the incident went beyond a routine accident, particularly because he was taken away on the bike despite repeatedly asking the rider to stop.Take a look at the post here:The post received concerned reactions from fellow Reddit users. One described the rider’s decision to flee with a passenger still on the bike as extremely reckless.Another criticised riders who take dangerous risks to save small amounts of money, while a third suggested sharing the photograph of the damaged car in case its owner or someone who knows them comes across the post.- Ends
