According to the student, the lecturer allegedly offered to tutor her alone at his house free of cost while promising to build a "good relationship" with her."I rejected all his proposals because I didn't need extra tuition. I could easily understand his classroom lectures," the student alleged. She further claimed that the lecturer later threatened to fail her if she refused to attend private tuition sessions at his residence."Recently, he told me that if I didn't come to his house for tuition, he would fail me. After that, we approached Gobardanga Police Station to lodge a complaint," she said. She also informed several other senior students about the alleged harassment."They confronted the accused teacher, paraded him, beat him with broomsticks and threw eggs at him," she said.Another student alleged that the guest lecturer threatened female students by telling them they were free to complain wherever they wanted, but insisted that their allegations would not harm him.Visuals circulating on social media purportedly show the lecturer being escorted through the college premises while students surround him, throw eggs at him and force him to wear a garland made of shoes before handing him over to the police.The student said she and others now want strict action against the lecturer."We want him to be punished and removed from the college," she said.Police have arrested the lecturer based on the complaint and initiated an investigation.
