Ben Johnson: QB on Sunday will be whoever gives us the best chance to win

Published September 30, 2026 03:28 PM Bears head coach Ben Johnson wasn’t ready to name a quarterback for Week 4 on Tuesday and nothing changed on Wednesday. Johnson said that Caleb Williams will not take part in the team’s walkthrough later in the day, but that his hamstring is “getting better every single day” and he has not been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets. Case Keenum started in the team’s win over the Eagles and Tyson Bagent is available after clearing the concussion protocol. Johnson said the quarterback choice will be “whoever we think gives us the best chance to win” and that he has faith in all the choices. “It’s not hard for me at all,” Johnson said. “I feel really good about all three quarterbacks in that room. I know all three of them can win games for us.”Johnson will speak to the media again on Friday and we’ll find out at that point if they’re going to announce their plans for the Jets ahead of Sunday.
