Ahead of its October 9 release date, Netflix shared the teaser trailer for Animals, which stars Affleck as a mayoral candidate in Los Angeles whose son gets kidnapped. Mark Kimball only has a matter of hours to pay the ransom or face the consequences, so the politician and his wife do whatever it takes to come up with the money, even if that means exposing their secrets. Check out the trailer below: The teaser trailer begins with Affleck's character, Mark Kimball, and his wife looking at each other with worried expressions as his phone vibrates. He quickly pulls out his phone to answer the call. It appears this scene takes place after their son has been taken, and they're waiting to hear from the kidnapper. After some happier shots of Mark at campaign headquarters and spending time with his family, the teaser turns dark and sinister once more. Mark and his wife are distraught and angry, with the politician yelling into his phone at one point. Then a dark SUV pulls up to their house, and Gillian Anderson's character arrives at Mark's door. The vibration from Mark's phone continues throughout much of the trailer, which ends with the man himself becoming a target, as a masked individual aims a gun at him from afar. More to come...
