Beloved rock frontman dead at 46 after cancer battle: ‘Made a huge impact’

If you ever had the privilege of meeting Mike, you know what an amazing person he was. He was an incredible frontman, artist manager, label exec, father, friend and so much more. Our thoughts are with Mike and his family today. We hope his legacy lives on through the memories he gave us and all the incredible heavy music he made.”“Rest easy Mike Milford,” Scars of Tomorrow bassist Bob Bradley wrote. “You were loved by so many and made a huge impact in the heavy music and hardcore scene during our touring days together and well after. Just thinking about you and praying for your family and all that were there for him during his battle with cancer. Father, musician, music industry wizard and all around amazing guy. RIP and thanks for all the memories my friend.”Fans and friends were quick to share their love for the singer on social media. “I still don’t really know what to say,” Alex Koehler wrote on Facebook. “There are a lot of things I want to say, but I just wish I could’ve said them to you personally. Thank you for everything you did for me and my career. I genuinely don’t think I’d be where I am today without having you in my corner all those years. “Mike Milford is a major reason why some of your favorite bands even had the chance to become your favorite bands,” he continued. ”CG may have never had the opportunity to break out and become what it is today without Mike. You may not know his name or recognize his face, but I guarantee you’ve listened to a band he helped build. Rest in peace, mike. Thank you for everything.”“Rest in Peace Mike Milford,” Ryan Levey wrote on Facebook. “We partnered on a lot of shows together in the past and he helped me branch away from ERC to start Monumental. He was the vocalist of Scars of Tomorrow, We Are Devastation, The Hollowed and then became a band manager with Artery Foundation and later ran Artery Recordings. No one would have guessed that the manager for bands like Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, Atilla, I Declare War, etc lived in Spokane for a while. He was a big bro in the music biz that shared his awesome life and connection with a kid in the 509 scene like me. For a moment, Artery was on top of the world and it was so cool to see what it’s like up there through the friendship and knowledge Mike shared. Thanks for everything Milf. The site said the group developed a “West Coast take on “East Coast-style hardcore.”The band released six albums.
