The iconic fast-food fried chicken chain introduced Go Buckets this week. Designed for on-the-go occasions, Go Buckets pair a choice of KFC chicken with fries or wedges, starting at $3.49.Each Go Bucket comes with a choice of four nuggets, two wings or one tender, with six combinations ranging from 16 to 18 grams of protein. Go Buckets are also now designed to be easily handheld or fit in a standard car cupholder. We wanted to meet those changing habits by giving guests more for their money while making it easier to enjoy the KFC they know and love.”The new menu addition comes as snacking plays a bigger role in how Americans eat throughout the day. In fact, 87% of consumers reported snacking outside traditional mealtimes, according to Datassential. Additionally, nearly three out of four restaurant orders are now taken to go, according to the National Restaurant Association.The Go Buckets serve as a tribute to the original KFC bucket, which dates to 1957 when Colonel Harland Sanders and Pete Harman, KFC’s first franchise owner, began filling paper buckets with 14 pieces of Kentucky Fried Chicken, five rolls and a pint of gravy as a family meal to take home and share.
