Being in three bands kept Ohio guitar hero from his own next album -- until now
It's been 12 years since Sandusky-born, Elyria-raised Doug Gillard released an album of his own -- a gap caused partly by his continuing work in bands such as Guided By Voices, Nada Surf and Bambi Kino. His new "Parallel Stride' comes out on Friday, April 24, featuring 11 new tracks of tightly crafted, melodic, guitar-led rock and power pop Gillard recorded in New York.
