Becky And The Birds – “Way Back To You”

Becky And The Birds is actually just one person, and her name is not Becky. Instead, it's the project of Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer Thea Gustafsson, who uses the moniker to release stylish, left-of-center, R&B-infused pop music. Her latest song "Way Back To You" is a collage of rhythm and cut-up vocal samples recorded during a run of sessions in California with her longtime collaborator Nick Velez.“‘Way Back To You' started with the drums, which is unusual for me," Gustafsson says. "I built everything around that feeling and followed my instincts from there. I wanted the song to feel alive, a little unpredictable, and emotionally messy in the best possible way. It's about longing for something you can't quite reach, but continuing to move toward it anyway."The song comes with two distinct minimalist music videos created by artist Ellen Nielsen.
