Beckham pals say Cruz is ‘putting Brooklyn to shame’ with career milestone saying ‘he’s a nepo-baby who actually grafts’

PALS of the Beckhams have said their youngest son Cruz is “putting Brooklyn to shame” with his newest career milestone saying “he’s a nepo-baby who actually grafts.” Victoria and David’s estranged son Brooklyn has famously struggled to find his calling, hopping between a string of short-lived careers. The singer has recently hit a big career milestone landing gigs at both Reading and Leeds Festival with his band Cruz Beckham & The Breakers. Sign up for the Showbiz newsletter Thank you! The frontman will perform on what was previously known as the ‘BBC Introducing’ stage. As Cruz’s career begins to flourish, an insider seems to be wondering just how long Brooklyn’s hot sauce business, Cloud23, will last before he’s had enough. He’s always in the studio practising, looking for the next best opportunity and he really does have a passion for music,” said a Beckham pal. “He might not end up a global star but he’s going to go really far.” The source added: “Cruz is set on pursuing his music and has no intention of flitting between career paths and treating them as hobbies unlike some. “While they’re both nepo-babies Cruz is putting Brooklyn to shame as he coasts by – at least Cruz is actually grafting.” Most read in TV Cruz announced earlier this year that he’ll be officially launching his career with an EP titled ‘Wear & Tear,’ which is scheduled for release on August 21. The Brit-pop and indie rock band have already dropped a few singles including ‘Optics’ and ‘Waste Your Pain.’ Meanwhile, Brooklyn, 27, has recently been pursuing a social media career alongside his sauce business, which launched in 2024. He came under fire just weeks ago after appearing in a big money TV advert to promote DoorDash – a food delivery service. In the ad, he says to the camera: “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home…” Smirking Brooklyn then laughs: “It’s a long story.” Sources close to David and Victoria said they were left shocked over the ‘attack’ ad. The source said: “To do an ad based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and sister and grandparents are inconsolable… “It just seems a tad hypocritical from someone claiming to want peace and privacy and then trying to cash in on it all.” Comment now
