Oregon State DL Jacob Schuster No. 62 6-foot-2, 360-pounds Rs-Senior Lacey, WA Tumwater HS -> Minnesota -> Oregon State 2025 Stats: 14 tackles, two sacks and two pass breakups Schuster’s 2025 Recap After breaking into the defensive line rotation and playing in 10 games in 2024, Schuster took another step forward in 2025. He appeared in nine contests with seven starts and tallied 14 tackles with two sacks and two pass breakups. His best game of the season came in the opener against California when he tallied four tackles, but was also heavily impactful against Houston when he tallied two sacks and two tackles for loss. While Schuster didn’t play as many snaps as he did in 2024, his PFF numbers, notably his run defense, were significantly better than the year prior. His run defense grade from 2025 is the highest amongst returning interior DLs… 2026 Outlook Schuster was expected to be out of eligibility following the 2025 campaign as the Tumwater (WA) native began his career at Minnesota in 2021. However, considering he had yet to log a full 12-game season and had multiple years (redshirt in ’21 and sitting out at OSU due to transfer rules in ’23) where he didn’t play, he was able to get his eligibility clock extended by the NCAA. That meant that Oregon State, head coach JaMarcus Shephard, and defensive line coach Mark Hagen had a veteran, experienced player who could slot in and play a key role in the first year of their defense. Schuster is the Beavers’ biggest defensive lineman, checking in at 6-foot-2, 360 pounds post-spring after being in the mid 330’s last season, meaning he’s added more size to play more defensive tackle in the interior of the Beavers’ new 4-3 system. Look for Schuster to play a key role in the Beavers’ defensive line rotation, settling into regular playing time at one of the defensive tackle positions. Getting a senior with Schuster’s amount of experience and leadership back in the fold was a big “win” for the Beavers’ defense this offseason.
