A BBC Saturday Kitchen chef has announced the sudden closure of his flagship restaurant. Josh Katz who has appeared on the celebrated morning cooking show took to Instagram to reveal the closure of Berber & Q Grill house. In a heartfelt post, he said: “When we opened beneath the railway arches in Haggerston back in 2015, we never imagined where the journey would take us. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! “Over the years, the arch has been home to extraordinary teams, incredible guests and countless evenings we’ll never forget.” “To everyone who’s walked through our doors over the last eleven years, thank you. Whether you joined us once or became a regular, you’ve been part of what made this place so special.” Its wider business will live on as home for private dining, special events and catering. Last January, Josh also closed down another diner, Carmel Fitzrovia after he admitted he could see no “viable way forward”. Another Carmel site in Queen’s Park and his Shawarma bar remains open. It comes just days after Philip Juma, who has appeared on MasterChef: The Professionals and Saturday Kitchen, confirmed he will be closing Juma Kitchen at London’s Borough Market on December 31.
