He penned on Instagram: “I really should be asleep. Sign up for the Showbiz newsletter Thank you! “Instead, I’m lying here wondering whether I’m ready to go back to work. “Mrs Nestor has agreed to let me out this morning… although I’m still not convinced she won’t cancel the taxi before 8am. “Today will be my first programme back on BBC Radio London since the 2nd of June.” Eddie clarified he is still having chemotherapy, meaning he is “taking this one show at a time.” He further highlighted the significant timing of returning 15 years on from the events that led to the 2011 London riots. Eddie continued: “It’s the only time I’ve ever had to abandon a live programme. Most read in TV “We were already broadcasting on location when events escalated so quickly that we had to pack up the radio car and leave. That’s how serious it became.” “He concluded: “If you see me today, please don’t be offended if I don’t give you a hug. “The doctors have been very clear, and Mrs Nestor has promoted herself to Director of Germ Prevention.” Eddie previously told fans about his diagnosis with a statement over four Instagram slides and said he’d spent Father’s Day in hospital. “You may have noticed I’ve been quieter than usual,” he began. “I’ve been diagnosed with cancer.
