BBC racing commentator John Hunt and daughter Amy complete 120-mile walk in memory of family murdered by crossbow killer

BBC racing commentator John Hunt has completed a poignant 120-mile charity walk with his daughter Amy in memory of their murdered family.John's wife, Carol, and youngest daughters Hannah and Louise, were brutally killed by Kyle Clifford, 26, at the family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, in July 2024.Clifford fatally stabbed Carol, 61, before raping his former partner Louise, 25, and shooting both her and Hannah, 28, with a crossbow. He was jailed for life in March last year and told he would never be released.John and Amy read devastating victim impact statements to the court, and the judge praised their 'astonishing dignity and courage'.This month, the pair spent nine days walking from the family home to Bournemouth, Dorset, which had been a special holiday destination for them all.Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp, who knows John through horseracing, and his wife Sandra hosted them at a reception at a hotel in Bournemouth.In the wake of the tragedy, John and Amy have set up the Hunt Family Fund to raise money for tackling male violence against women and girls, as well as other causes close to the family's hearts. Over £90,000 has so far been raised.The pair were joined by 20 family and friends as they completed the final leg of the walk from Mudeford in Christchurch to Bournemouth Pier, and finally on to Alum Chine. We have shared a lot of memories and tried to have loads of laughs along the way between the four of us.'We have had some really sad and difficult moments when you feel you can't go on and that is when you help each other to pull it around.'It mirrors life in many ways, as so often you get battered down and are crawling on your knees but you have to find a way of getting back up again.'John added of the family's love of Bournemouth: 'When Carol was pregnant with my eldest, Amy, we had a short holiday in Bournemouth and we really fell for it then, to be honest.'So in later life, when we thought about what we're going to do to relax, going to Bournemouth on a regular basis became our thing to do basically.'We used to love going over the ferry from Sandbanks over to Studland.'Launching the fund in December 2025, Amy said: 'My mum and sisters are not defined by what happened to them.
