BBC commentator confuses Pharrell with A$AP Rocky — and flubs name completely — at World Cup Final 2026

From blurred lines to blurred vision. BBC commentator Guy Mowbray mistook Pharrell for his fellow rapper A$AP Rocky at the World Cup Final 2026 on Sunday. In the viral clip, the camera panned to the “Happy” emcee, who was sitting in a VIP suite with his wife, Helen Lasichanh, watching Spain take on Argentina inside MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Elsewhere during the World Cup Final, sports announcer John Strong mistook Matt Damon for Brad Pitt while announcing celebrity guests at the match. “Brad Pitt among the fans here,” the Fox broadcaster, 41, said before fellow announcer Stu Holden corrected him. “That’s Matt Damon,” Holden interjected before the men laughed about Strong’s on-air blunder.
